Any opinions on the two knives in this beginners kit. Looking for a general purpose and a detail knife.

There pretty good folks and I believe that is a good deal.
Mention this Site and John Day. They took care of me at the Havre de Grace show.

I have dealt with John and Cindy for years.
Honest as the day is long. And they stand behind their products.
I liked the "Advanced" selection the best. And I like a 3" blade for removal purposes.
I saw your pics with JohnR and the others. That's the best place to try different blades to see what feels right for you.
I probably have 15 knives but only use 3 or 4 with any regularity.

They will probably be at the Ward Museum in October.

Chris let me know what you think of them, I did my shorebird head with nothing but the knife and enjoyed it. I need a curved one and maybe a detail one.
